Tru Thoughts is a Brighton-based independent record label founded in 1999 by Robert Luis and Paul Jonas. Since its founding, the label has refused easy categorisation, releasing music that moves between hip-hop, soul, electronic music, jazz and everything in between.

Tru Thoughts artists have included Quantic, Nostalgia 77, Alice Russell, Belleruche and dozens of others who share a commitment to musicianship and a rejection of genre boundaries. The label's Brighton base keeps it at a deliberate distance from London music industry logic, independent in the truest sense, following artistic instinct rather than commercial calculation.
