Athens of the North is an Edinburgh-based independent record label founded in 2014 by Euan Fryer, specialising in reissuing overlooked soul, funk, boogie and disco recordings. The label takes its name from Edinburgh's historical nickname, a nod to the city's place as an unlikely home for music deeply rooted in American soul and funk traditions.
