The Top 10 Most Expensive Records on the Vault (2026)

The Top 10 Most Expensive Records on the Vault (2026) - vinyl record guide and tips

Every January the collecting world fixates on the record that sold for the price of a small car. We wanted to do something a little more honest: instead of auction-house fantasy prices, here are the ten most expensive records actually sitting in the VinylVault stockroom right now, in 2026, ranked by their shelf price and ready to ship. No hype, no "recently sold" asterisks. This is what the top of a real, working catalogue of nearly 48,000 records looks like.

A pattern jumps out fast. The big money is not in rare original pressings here; it is in the heavyweight audiophile box set. Analogue Productions alone takes four of the ten places. These are all-analogue, multi-LP, numbered editions cut from the original tapes, and collectors pay for the mastering as much as the music. Here is the countdown.

    1. Bill Evans - Riverside Recordings (Analogue Productions) - £1,092.99

Nothing else in the building comes close. This is the complete Riverside output of pianist Bill Evans across a monstrous 22-LP box set, cut at 33rpm by Kevin Gray from the original tapes and pressed at Quality Record Pressings. It gathers the run that redefined the jazz piano trio, including Sunday at the Village Vanguard and Waltz for Debby, in the best domestic sound they have ever had.

At just under £1,100 it is unashamedly a collector's centrepiece, the kind of purchase you make once and keep for life. We hold a single copy. When it goes, it goes. View the Bill Evans Riverside Recordings box.

    2. Guns N' Roses - Use Your Illusion (Super Deluxe) - £515.99

The most expensive rock title in stock, and a genuine event release. This super deluxe edition rebuilds both Use Your Illusion albums across 12 LPs plus a Blu-ray, and wraps the music in the kind of packaging that turns a reissue into an artefact: a poster, art cards, a replica membership card and a replica concert ticket from the 1991 tour.

It is aimed squarely at the fan who wants the definitive physical statement of the band's most excessive era. Fittingly excessive in size and price to match. See the Use Your Illusion Super Deluxe.

    3. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Absolute Originals (Analogue Productions) - £515.99

Analogue Productions again, and tied for second on price. Absolute Originals collects CCR's studio catalogue as 180-gram all-analogue reissues in a seven-LP-plus-12-inch box, mastered from the original tapes. For a band whose records were played to death in every 1970s living room, hearing them this clean is a small revelation.

This is the reference way to own Fogerty and company, and the price reflects the tape access and pressing quality rather than any manufactured scarcity. Browse the CCR Absolute Originals box.

    4. Thelonious Monk - The Riverside Tenor Sessions (Analogue Productions) - £447.99

A second Riverside-era jazz monument. This seven-LP box gathers Monk's celebrated sessions with the great tenor players he sparred with, again given the full Analogue Productions treatment of tape-sourced, audiophile mastering on 180-gram vinyl.

If the Bill Evans set is the headline act of our jazz shelf, this is the one right behind it, and arguably the more adventurous listen. View The Riverside Tenor Sessions.

    5. Yoko Kanno - Macross Plus (Sharon Apple Deluxe Edition) - £419.99

Proof that the money is not only in classic rock and jazz. Yoko Kanno's score for the anime Macross Plus is a cult favourite, and this Sharon Apple Deluxe Edition gives it a seven-LP set plus two Blu-rays. Anime and game soundtrack collecting has become one of the fiercest corners of the market, and premium editions like this vanish quickly.

We hold two copies, a rare bit of breathing room this high up the list. See the Macross Plus deluxe box.

    6. Françoise Hardy - Blues: Intégrale Vogue 1962-1967 - £412.99

A beautifully assembled tribute to the French icon's early years. This 14-LP box, with a DVD and booklet housed in a slip-case, collects Hardy's complete Vogue-era recordings, the run that made her the face of the yé-yé generation and one of the most stylish artists of the 1960s.

It is the most comprehensive Hardy set money can buy, and a fitting memorial to an artist whose influence still runs through indie and chanson today. Browse the Françoise Hardy box set.

    7. The Beatles - Anthology Collection (2025 Edition) - £378.99

The freshly expanded Anthology, spread across 12 LPs in a trifold, 180-gram pressing with insert. Three decades on from the original project, this edition brings the outtakes, demos and alternate takes back into print at the scale the material deserves.

For Beatles collectors the appeal is obvious: it is the biggest single-purchase window into the band's working process, and no serious shelf feels complete without it. View the Beatles Anthology Collection.

    8. Blood Sweat & Tears - Bloodlines (Analogue Productions) - £377.99

The fourth Analogue Productions box in our top ten, an eight-LP set covering the jazz-rock pioneers' catalogue. Blood Sweat & Tears fused brass, blues and rock in a way that still sounds ambitious, and the all-analogue mastering gives that horn section real weight.

A connoisseur's pick rather than a household name, which is exactly why the audiophile crowd prize it. See the Bloodlines box.

    9. Loyle Carner - Hugo (Deluxe Box) - £370.99

The most gloriously over-the-top object on the list, and the newest artist on it. This deluxe edition of Hugo surrounds two LPs and a picture disc with an almost absurd bundle of extras: two flexi-discs, a toolbox, a chess board and pieces, a book, a notebook, incense and a burner, a keychain and a pin. It is less a record and more a boxed instalment of the album's world.

That it sits alongside heritage giants shows how far modern hip hop and r&b packaging has pushed the format. One copy only. View the Loyle Carner Hugo deluxe box.

    10. Rush - Grace Under Pressure (Super Deluxe Edition) - £370.99

Rounding out the ten, a half-speed remastered super deluxe of Rush's 1984 landmark, running to five LPs plus a Blu-ray, a light-up display, a poster and further merch. The half-speed cut is the draw for audiophiles, squeezing every detail out of one of the band's most texturally rich records.

Two copies in stock, and a reminder that the progressive rock faithful will happily pay top money for the definitive edition of a favourite. See the Grace Under Pressure Super Deluxe.

What the top ten tells you about vinyl in 2026

Three things stand out. First, the audiophile box set now sits at the very top of the market: mastering pedigree and tape access, not age, drive these prices. Second, jazz and classic rock still dominate the high end, but soundtracks and modern hip hop are muscling in fast. Third, almost everything up here is a single copy. Scarcity at this level is real, not manufactured.

The vast majority of our catalogue sits a very long way below these numbers, with the average LP around £31. If you want to see where the sensible money goes, browse the full catalogue and sort by price. But if you have the shelf space and the budget, the records above are the crown jewels of the Vault as 2026 stands.
